Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I know the CBA program is an approved health insurance program and that it will deliver the savings you claim?
A: CBA works with an experienced third party administration firm, IIS Benefit Administrators, a company that has been using proprietary software to save companies of all sizes significant amounts of money on their health insurance premiums since 2002. Its activities strictly comply with IRS Section 105 standards. IIS meets all HIPAA and other state and federal requirements. Currently, more than 5,000 members have their health insurance benefits administered by the IIS team of licensed professionals and a skilled customer service team. Licensed professionals and chamber of commerce boards of directors have done due diligence on the concept and have approved it.
Q: As an employer, can I keep my current insurance broker and still use the CBA plan?
A: Yes. CBA does not intend to replace the relationship you have with your broker. CBA simply administers the policy you purchase from your broker.
Q: Does the CBA plan work with all insurance carriers?
A: Yes, but not all carriers provide the electronic data transmissions of EOBs (explanations of benefits) that make the claims process totally seamless and as easy as possible for both the employer and employee. CBA receives electronic EOB transmissions from the following carriers:
• Assurant Health
• BlueCross BlueShield of Texas
• HealthNet
• Medical Mutual of Ohio
• St. Mary's
• UnitedHealthcare
Q: How much extra work is there for my staff to manage the CBA plan?
A: There are generally only three steps. Twice each month your benefits person will be advised about funding a special reserve account. Once a month that person will receive a report to track claims and to document your savings to date.
Q: Is the network of physicians my employees have now available if we adopt the CBA plan?
A: More than likely, yes. CBA deals with most of the national insurance carriers. Each has a wide network of physicians, many of whom are part of most major plans.
Q: Does my local chamber of commerce benefit from the CBA plan?
A: Chamber Benefits Administration has a special arrangement with local chambers of commerce around the country that allows chamber members to cut health care expenses and maintain quality coverage for employees. Your chamber benefits in several ways, including increase in the value of your membership to encourage your continuing support and connection.
Q: What steps do I have to take as an employer to find out how much I can save using the CBA program?
A: Simply fill out a no-risk no-obligation application and have your broker submit an employee census as is customary for any insurance program. CBA will help the insurance carrier customize your quote so you can accurately predict your savings.
